Florida Trend's Golden Spoon Award
PENSACOLA, FLORIDA—For the eighth consecutive year, Jackson’s Steakhouse, one of Northwest Florida’s local premier restaurants, has once again been recognized with the Golden Spoon Award, an honor given to the top 38 restaurants in the state of Florida by Florida Trend magazine.
Co-owner Barry Phillips states, “The award is one of the most coveted awards of all for us. As appreciative as we are for receiving the Golden Spoon, our number-one goal is to continue ensuring the very best dining experience possible for our valued guests.”
Located in historic downtown Pensacola, Jackson’s has been the cornerstone restaurant business success story since its inception in 1999 in the revitalization of downtown Pensacola. This past spring, the Merrill brothers—Collier, Burney, and Will—teamed up with Chef Irv Miller and Barry Phillips to bring the award-winning restaurant to the next level.
This fall, Jackson’s Steakhouse opened for lunch service—a highly anticipated event that has proven to be quite a success. Notable dishes include Balsamic Berries and Grilled Seasonal Melons with Citrus Trinity, Roasted Vidalia Onion Soup with Smoked Cheddar-Gruyére Crust, Cast Iron Baked Three-Cheese Macaroni, and Crosshatch Hot Dog with Summer Chowchow. And of course Jackson’s hand-selected, wet-aged steaks from the heartland of America are always available.
Continuing the culinary tradition of fine dinner service with exceptional cuisine and spectacular presentation, Chef Miller has added some brilliant new menu selections including the generous Proprietor’s Cut steak as well as steamed Maine lobster, flown in daily. For those looking for a quiet place for two or a venue to celebrate any occasion, once again, Jackson’s proves it is indeed the place to dine in Pensacola.
According to chef and co-owner Irv Miller, “The award is an industry honor. It is a true testament for recognizing that we have remained focused on our restaurant concept, high food standards, and service goals.”
Chris Sherman, the food and dining editor for Florida Trend magazine, presents the Golden Spoon Awards each year. The awards are based on food, presentation, service, atmosphere, price, and total dining experience. In the Northwest Florida Panhandle, from Pensacola to Jacksonville, only five restaurants received this award—with our very own Jackson’s Steakhouse one of those five.
